Jennie from BLACKPINK
lit up the stage at this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival
with a stunning solo performance. Her stage presence, style, and powerful dance
moves impressed fans all over the world. People were so amazed that they even
started calling the event “JENCHELLA”, mixing her name with Coachella.
This isn’t Jennie’s first time performing
at Coachella. In 2019, BLACKPINK made history by becoming one of the first
K-pop girl groups to perform at the famous festival. In 2023, they were even
headliners, a huge achievement for any artist — especially from Korea. Jennie’s
experience on the big stage showed, and this year, she took things to the next
level by performing as a solo artist.

On April 13, Jennie performed on the
Outdoor Theatre stage, Coachella’s second biggest stage after the Main Stage.
Only top global artists are invited to perform there. Jennie opened her show
with "Filter", wearing a red top, brown boots, and sunglasses in a cool cowgirl
style. She danced with full energy and charmed the crowd with her natural
charisma.

Her performance featured many tracks from
her first solo album "Ruby", including "Mantra", "Handlebars", "start
a war", "Love Hangover", "ZEN", "Seoul City", and more. She performed 13 songs
in total, dancing and singing live without losing energy. One special moment
was when American pop star Kali Uchis joined her on stage for the song "Damn
Right", making the show even more exciting. However, even without other
featuring artists, Jennie confidently performed all her songs, including "Handlebars" and "Love Hangover", on her own. Her strong stage skills filled every moment
with charm.

Jennie’s track "like JENNY" became one of
the highlights of the night. Her emotional powerful rap and unique style showed
a different side from her BLACKPINK days. The fans sang along loudly, creating
a strong connection between the artist and the audience. Jennie ended her stage
with "Starlight", thanking not only her fans but also her dancers, band
members, and the entire crew who helped her make the show happen.

Some critics pointed out that certain parts
of Jennie’s show felt a bit too experimental or lacked the polish expected from
such a high-profile stage. A few viewers commented that the transitions between
songs could have been smoother, and some of the live vocals appeared strained
at moments. However, most fans and media agreed that Jennie took a bold step by
showcasing her unique style and artistic growth, which made the performance
memorable and exciting.

Earlier in the festival, on April 11, fellow
BLACKPINK member Lisa also performed a solo stage at Coachella, taking
over the Sahara Stage. Her show was divided into five distinct sections, each
representing a different side of her identity, in line with her "alter ego" concept. Lisa introduced the audience to her five personas: the supervillain "VIXI",
the curious and playful "KIKI", the romantic and soft-hearted "SUNNY", the
confident and fast-moving "SPEEDY", and the global superstar "ROXI". Through
these alter egos, Lisa told a dramatic and artistic story of her personal
journey, blending music, visuals, and performance in a creative and meaningful
way. Lisa will perform again later this month, as will Jennie. Jennie’s second
Coachella performance is scheduled for April 21, and Lisa will return on April
18.

Another touching moment was when Rosé came
to cheer on Jennie during her performance. She attended the show with Lisa and
was seen jumping, dancing, and having fun while watching Jennie on stage. After
the performance Rosé hugged Jennie tightly, spinning her around in celebration.
All three of them (Jennie, Rosé and Lisa) took photos together after the show,
showing their strong friendship. Although Jisoo wasn’t able to attend, she left
a sweet comment on Jennie’s Instagram post, writing, "You were amazing, like Jendeukie
(Jennie’s nickname)!", showing her support from afar.

The support between the BLACKPINK members
touched many fans. Even though they are working on solo projects now, their
friendship and teamwork continue to shine. It’s clear they truly support each
other’s dreams.
As Coachella continues, fans are excited to
see what Jennie and Lisa will bring in their next performances. The BLACKPINK
girls have shown once again that they are strong artists both as a group and as
individuals. Whether it’s on the world’s biggest stages or in solo projects,
their charm and talent continue to grow.
