The much-anticipated 2025 MyK
FESTA, a large-scale Hallyu (Korean Wave) celebration, is set to take place
from June 19 to 22 across the Olympic Park area in Seoul, including the KSPO
Dome, Handball Gymnasium, and Hanuel Plaza. This vibrant event will
bring together Hallyu fans from around the world to experience the full
spectrum of Korean culture in one place.
Hosted by the Ministry of Culture,
Sports and Tourism (MCST) and the Korean Foundation for International

content industry and related sectors to a global audience. Designed as a
comprehensive Hallyu experience, the festival offers a chance to explore
everything from music and drama to food, lifestyle, and business – all under

On the final day, June 22, the
spotlight shifts to Korea’s rich musical heritage. Traditional music groups Ak Dan Gwang Chil (ADG7) and Uheeska, both internationally recognized for their
innovative and modern take on Korean folk and classical sounds, will perform.
These performances aim to connect global audiences with Korea’s cultural roots,
offering a contrast to the high-energy K-pop acts while showcasing the depth of
Korean artistry.
A major highlight of the festival is the international
conference on June 20, where leaders from the content and related
industries will discuss the future of Korean cultural exports. Notable speakers
include Mike Van, CEO of Billboard; Daniel Jin, Head of Marketing
for Visa Asia-Pacific; Choi Jong-il, CEO of animation powerhouse Iconix;
and Lee Young-ah, Chief Strategy Officer at Olive Young. Topics will
range from the growth potential of Korea’s content industry to the synergy
between media, commerce, and lifestyle.

Running throughout the festival, the Handball
Gymnasium will host immersive exhibitions featuring 100+ Korean
companies across music, drama, webtoons, food, and lifestyle sectors.
Visitors will have opportunities to interact with the products and experiences
that define Hallyu today. The event is designed as an experiential hub, where
fans can not only consume content but actively engage with it.
Adding to the festival’s diverse
programming, MyK FESTA will feature K-drama production showcases,
revealing behind-the-scenes stories and upcoming releases. Meanwhile, talk
concerts with celebrities and industry experts will offer fans a more
intimate look into the world of Korean entertainment and its creators. These
segments provide valuable insight for aspiring creatives and devoted fans
alike.

To ensure the Hallyu experience isn’t
limited to Seoul, the festival will be promoted in other cities through
local events in Busan (May 30–31), Cheonan (June 4–8), Gyeongju
(June 7–8), and Yeosu (June 13–15). These regional tie-ins aim to
draw visitors beyond the capital and into Korea’s diverse cultural landscapes.
Special travel packages combining regional events with MyK FESTA will be
offered to encourage tourism across the country.
Although 2025 MyK FESTA marks the
inaugural edition under this name, it carries forward the legacy of past
cultural festivals that celebrated the Korean Wave. With expanded programming
and deeper industry integration, this year's event sets a new standard for what
a Hallyu festival can be – both a fan experience and a cultural business hub.
