“Our Unwritten Seoul” is a romantic
coming-of-age drama centered around twin sisters who are identical in
appearance but polar opposites in personality. One day, through a twist of
fate, they end up switching lives – a decision that forces them to navigate
unfamiliar roles, rediscover themselves, and reexamine what truly matters in
life and love.
The show explores the emotional landscapes
of these two women as they step into each other's worlds: one, a bright and
energetic soul struggling in the countryside; the other, a reserved and
overworked office worker living in the heart of Seoul. Through the swap, each
begins to confront the emotional wounds they’ve long buried, sparking healing
and transformation.

One of the most talked-about aspects of the
series is lead actress Park Bo-young’s ambitious performance – she plays not
just two, but four personas. As twin sisters Yoo Mirae and Yoo Miji, and as
each pretends to be the other, Park Bo-young brings stunning nuance to every
interaction. Her ability to shift seamlessly between restrained, emotionally
guarded Mirae and bright, expressive Miji – and then portray each one
impersonating the other – is nothing short of masterful.

K-drama fans already know Park Bo-young for
her roles in “Strong Woman Do Bong-soon” and “Doom at Your Service”, but “Our
Unwritten Seoul” is arguably her most demanding role yet. Fans and critics
alike are praising her for her depth, precision, and emotional resonance, with
many calling her performance “career-defining”.
Also starring in “Our Unwritten Seoul” is
actor and GOT7 member Park Jin-young, who plays Lee Hosu, a brilliant and
emotionally complex lawyer. At first glance, Hosu is all about logic and
control, but his path crosses with one of the twins – revealing layers of
vulnerability, past wounds, and unresolved affection.

Park Jin-young’s acting as Hosu is calm but
very moving. With just a look or a pause, he shows the deep emotions of a man
who keeps his feelings inside but still longs for connection. Whether he's
arguing in a serious scene or quietly thinking about his past, Jin-young adds
emotional depth to the drama’s main themes of love, regret, and healing.

Despite being only two episodes in, Our
Unwritten Seoul has already achieved impressive ratings. Episode 2 recorded a
peak of 6.5% in Seoul and 5.8% nationwide, a noticeable jump from
the premiere’s 3.6%. Among tvN’s target demographic (viewers aged 20–49), it
ranked first in its time slot across all cable and general programming
channels.

Online reactions have been overwhelmingly
positive. Viewers have praised everything from Park Bo-young’s “insane
attention to twin details” to the emotionally resonant script. Comments like “I
cried because it felt like my own story”, and “This feels like the birth of a
new life drama”, have flooded social media. Many are even calling it an early
contender for next year’s drama awards.

The drama comes from a powerhouse
production team. Writer Lee Kang, known for “Youth of May”, returns with a
story that once again blends personal reflection with heartfelt storytelling.
Director Park Shin-woo, famed for his emotionally rich visuals in “Encounter”
and “It's Okay to Not Be Okay”, brings his signature cinematic touch. The
result is a drama that feels both intimate and grand, delicately balancing
realism with poetic beauty.
