If you look at the K-pop idols these days,
there are members who changed a lot since their debut days and became even more
beautiful than they used to be. Many people think the reason for that is
plastic surgery, but the secret in a lot of cases actually lays in changing their
makeup style. If you find a makeup style that fits your face you can see a huge
improvement in your appearance.

But how can you find the makeup style that
perfectly suits your face? One way to do this is by analyzing existing
examples. We've gathered some examples, where a change in an idol's makeup
style drastically transformed her look. Let’s examine these successful makeup
transformations, and it will be much easier to see the difference.
TWICE Tzuyu

TWICE recently released their new song called "Strategy" featuring Megan
Thee Stallion along with concept photos for the album. These photos clearly show
the makeup transformation in particular of one of the members Tzuyu. When the group
first debuted, Tzuyu used to wear dark colors on her lower lash line, which
made her eyes appear smaller and heavier.
However, if we look at the makeup from the latest concept, her lower
lash line has been changed into bright brown color which accentuated Tzuyu’s
naturally big eyes creating a much more beautiful look. Additionally, light brown
colors suit Tzuyu’s warm-toned face very well, making the brown shade a key
makeup point that highlights her charm.

Rosé

Recently, Rosé, who released title track of
her album "Toxic Till The End", has undergone a significant transformation from
her debut days. Rosé generally has thin double eyelid lines, so heavy eye
makeup can make her eyes appear more closed off. In her debut days, the thick
black eyeliner made her double eyelids almost invisible, giving a much heavier
look.
However, if we look at her recent photos,
we can see that now she uses a thinner eyeliner and uses a brown color on the
lower lash line to add depth. Such changes result in a more sophisticated
makeup look that emphasizes her elegant image.

Recently, Aespa’s member Ningning’s makeup transformation
has been noticed while she promoted their new song ‘Whiplash’. Her makeup significantly
changed from her debut days.
During her debut era, specifically in ‘Black
Mamba’ and ‘Next Level’ promotions, Ningning wore a bold eye makeup, using a
lot of glitter to emphasize her eyes. However, this bold eye makeup sometimes
made her look older than her age.
If we look at her current makeup, you can
see how she draws her eyeliner more naturally following the eye line and it
gives effect of more elongated eye shape. She uses brown shadow on the outer
corners under her eyes to create ‘lower eyelid slit’ effect making her eyes
appear bigger.
When it comes to her overall makeup in the
debut era, she used to put main focus on the eyes and keep rest of her makeup
minimal. However, recently she stopped emphasizing her eye makeup and she
applies round blush below her eyes. This blush placement is also known as ‘short
midface makeup’ which makes face appear shorter and gives a more youthful
appearance.

TIP
How to tell if you are warm or cool toned?
A simple way to figure out your skin tone is by looking at the veins on your wrist: if they appear more blue, you're likely cool-toned, while greenish veins suggest a warm tone.
Generally, people with warm-toned skin tend to look brighter and more vibrant when wearing shades like brown, orange, yellow, light green, and warm reds. These colors bring out the golden undertones in the skin and enhance its natural warmth.
On the other hand, people with cool-toned skin typically look better in clothing that features cooler shades, such as black, white, teal, navy blue, or jewel tones like emerald and sapphire. These colors complement the cooler, pink or blue undertones in the skin, making the complexion appear more radiant.
