BLACKPINK has already made history with
their previous "BORN PINK" world tour, setting a new record for K-pop
girl groups by attracting around 1.8 million fans across 66 shows in 34 cities
worldwide. In addition to this monumental achievement, the group became the
first Asian artists to headline the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in
April 2023, the largest music festival in the U.S.
Lately, all four BLACKPINK members were focused
more on their solo careers and mostly were involved in the activities under their
own labels. But this time, after confirming the group’s comeback, YG
Entertainment said that this year will be a year filled with big projects
worthy of BLACKPINK’s global status. This is definitely good news for the fans
of the group performing together.

With BLACKPINK being on hiatus since 2023, the
members’ solo endeavors attract as much attention. Rosé's super hit “APT”
featuring pop star Bruno Mars, has been ranked third for two consecutive weeks
on the U.S. Billboard's chart “Hot 100”. With this, Rosé broke her record of
5th place, the highest number of K-pop female singers. In December Rosé also
released her solo album Rosie, for which she became executive producer and
co-wrote all 13 tracks.

Meanwhile, Jisoo has been working on her acting
career. A new Amazon Prime series “Newtopia”, where she plays the lead female
role, has been released on February 7th. In this series (based on the novel “Influenza”
by Han Sang-woon) a soldier (Park Jung-min) and his girlfriend (Jisoo) must
fight zombies together, even though they have just broken up. Jisoo who began
her acting career in a drama series “Snowdrop” (2021) has already made a name
for herself as an actress. So, she is expected to appear in even more acting
projects this year and her fans are excited for all of them. Also, she has just
released her first EP ”Amortage” on February 14.

Lisa’s solo album “Alter Ego” has just been released on February 28th. In this album Lisa emulates her five different
alter egos, each with different name and personality. She has also just made
her acting debut in the third season of the hit HBO series “White Lotus”. Lisa
plays a resort manager Mook who welcomes guests to the White Lotus in Thailand.

Jennie’s solo album “Ruby” is scheduled to
be released on March 7th. For this album Jennie collaborated with global
artists, like Dua Lipa and Childish Gambino. Apart from her music career,
Jennie also made her acting debut in the HBO series The Idol. Her role is a
backup dancer of a pop star played by Lily-Rose Depp. Even though it was a
minor role, her performance was very memorable.
This way, BLACKPINK members continue to grow
in their solo careers, each showcasing their unique personality and artistic
growth. And with their individual journeys they further solidify their global
influence. However, fans can’t help but anticipate what’s next for the group as
a whole. It’s clear that no matter how their solo endeavors unfold, BLACKPINK’s
bond as a group will remain unbreakable, and their global presence will
continue to captivate audiences everywhere. And that is why the upcoming
BLACKPINK world tour 2025 is so exciting for us all!
